Alexey Zelenkov was born in Navoi (Uzbek SSR).

He graduated from the Novosibirsk State Conservatory named after M. Glinka (class of Associate Professor D. Suslov, 2015).

While being a student, he became a soloist at the Novosibirsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre, where he sang in the operas La cambiale di matrimonio by G. Rossini, La traviata by G. Verdi and others. On the stage of the theatre, Alexey Zelenkov performed the following parts: Giorgio Germont (La traviata by Verdi), Scarpia (Tosca by Puccini), Andrey Shchelkalov (Boris Godunov by Mussorgsky), Amonasro (Aida by Verdi), Prologue. Tonio/Taddeo (Pagliacci by Leoncavallo), Renato (Un ballo in maschera by Verdi), Tomsky (The Queen of Spades by Tchaikovsky), Belcore (L’elisir d’amore by Donizetti), Marcel (La boheme by Puccini), Baron (The Miserly Knight by Rachmaninoff), Lanciotto Malatesta (Francesca da Rimini by Rachmaninoff), Dr. Falke (Die Fledermaus by Strauss), Dr. Bartolo (Il barbiere di Siviglia by Rossini), Escamillo (Carmen by Bizet), Prince Igor (Prince Igor by Borodin), Falstaff (Falstaff by Verdi), Ibn-Hakia (Iolanta by Tchaikovsky), Gryaznoy (The Tsar's Bride by Rimsky-Korsakov), Alfio (Cavalleria rusticana by Mascagni), and others.

Since 2017, he has been collaborating with the Mikhailovsky Theatre (St. Petersburg), where he performed the parts of Marcel (La boheme by Puccini), Renato (Un ballo in maschera by Verdi), Robert (Iolanta by Tchaikovsky) and Scarpia (Tosca by Puccini).

In 2019, Alexey Zelenkov performed the role of Rigoletto in the opera of the same name by G. Verdi on the stage of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia.

In 2022, he performed the part of Scarpia in the opera Tosca by G. Puccini with H. Gerzmava in the title role (in honor of the Anniversary of prominent opera singer M. Kasrashvili). It was held on the stage of the Moscow Concert Hall Zaryadye.

Since 2022, he has been a guest soloist at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, where he takes part in the operas Adriana Lecouvreur by F. Cilea (the role of Michonnet; conductor A. Fogliani; stage production and stage design by Gianluca Falaschi) and Tosca by G. Puccini (the role of Baron Scarpia, staged by D. Hilsdorf).

Alexey Zelenkov collaborates with the Kiel Opera House (Germany), performing in operas Aida by G. Verdi (Amonasro), Iolanta by P. Tchaikovsky (Ibn-Hakia).

In 2023, he made his debut on the stage of the Deutsche Oper Berlin in the opera Il barbiere di Siviglia (the role of Bartolo).
