The mission of the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre is to be an open space and a centre of attraction for creative powers. The Theatre is to become a “barrier free environment” and a place of development of all kinds of arts, and its gigantic cupola will shelter all the initiatives. A powerful art cluster, that includes a Philharmonic Hall, a Conservatoire, a Music School, and a Ballet College, needs a reliable basic structure — and the Theatre takes the job in order to reinforce the leading position of Novosibirsk in the Eurasian cultural space.
