NOVAT Announces the Start of Ticket Sales for the 74th Theatrical Season

June 01, 2018

Today, on June 1, NOVAT starts the sale of tickets for the performances of the new 74th season. The full repertoire is available on the official website of the theatre in the Playbill section. Starting today, you can buy tickets for the performances and concerts of the upcoming theatrical season at the most attractive prices.

It is not a coincidence that the tickets go on sale on the Children’s Day: the list of NOVAT’s productions for children has noticeably expanded in the new season. The season will open with Sergei Prokofiev’s “Cinderella” ballet performances. This spectacular production, première of the 73rd season, captivated the audience with the beauty of its classical dance and the dreamlike stage design.

The first ballet première of the 74th season — “Coppélia”, a comic ballet to the music of Léo Delibes — is also intended primarily for young audiences. This classical ballet masterpiece is based on “The Sandman”, a fairy-tale story by E.T.A. Hoffmann, and is included in the repertoire of many theatres around the world. The new production has been created by the choreographer Mikhail Messerer, the set and costume designer Vyacheslav Okunev, and the multimedia director Gleb Filshtinsky, who had previously presented the magical “Cinderella” to the Novosibirsk audience. “Coppélia” and “Cinderella” are the new additions to the list of children’s performances, which also features the all-time favourite “The Nutcracker” ballet by Piotr Tchaikovsky and the playfully delightful “Cipollino” ballet by Karen Khachaturian.

The 74th opera season will open with “Boris Godunov”, Modest Mussorgsky’s epic opera, featuring the outstanding René Pape. The bass singer, who is in high demand at the best European theatres, is to perform the title part in the opera.

The first opera première of the new season will be held in October. NOVAT’s production of “The Barber of Seville”, a famous opera by Gioacchino Rossini, is directed by Dmitry Belyanushkin, with the conductor Dmitry Yurovsky as the musical director of the performance. Owing to its elegant comic story, brilliant vocal parts and an abundance of captivating melodies, Rossini’s masterpiece has become one of the most popular operas in the world.

In autumn, opera lovers will have a splendid opportunity to enjoy the performances of Veronika Dzhioeva. The NOVAT’s prima donna, favourite opera singer of the Novosibirsk audience, who was awarded the title of Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation on May 30 this year, will perform her star part of Mimi in “La Bohème” in September, as well as sing in “Aida” and “Turandot” in October.

Admirers of classical music will be happy to learn about the upcoming November performance of the outstanding musician, world-famous Israeli violinist Vadim Gluzman. V. Gluzman, one of the world leaders of violin art, was a student of the famous Novosibirsk teacher Zakhar Bron, studied in Israel and the USA. Today, the violinist tours around the world with renowned orchestras.

The repertoire of the Isidor Zak Hall will be published on the website of NOVAT within the next few days. Music lovers will certainly be excited to see what premières, performances by guest stars and new concert programmes have been included in the new season’s playbill of the concert hall.

In the upcoming theatrical season, viewers will yet again be offered to select one of the seven subscription cycles on our website in the Subscriptions section. This will give theatre goers an opportunity to purchase tickets for the most popular performances, including the premières — “Cinderella”, “Coppélia” and “The Barber of Seville” —and to choose the best seats in the auditorium at the same time.

In the new season, the theatre will continue its Student Wednesdays programme, popular among young people.
