13th March NOVAT launches ticket sale for performances and concerts in May, June and July 2018. Tomorrow you can already purchase tickets for theatre events at good prices. Full playbill is exposed on the theatre website.
Repertoire of May, June and July promises a lot of bright and vivid events for the Novosibirsk theatre-goers in the Great hall and in Isidor Zak concert hall.
In May 2018 Prokofiev’s “Cinderella” is set to premiere in NOVAT. “Cinderella” is rightfully called “Ballet of Victory”, since it was the first after-war premiere in victorious year of 1945. Premiere of “Ballet of Victory” is dedicated to the birthday of the theatre - Victory’s age mate. Producers of the performance strived to recreate the very first staging of Prokofiev’s ballet, trying to keep that cheerful, optimistic atmosphere of the first post-war days, but using all modern theatre technology advancements.
“Cinderella” premiere shows will be held on May 16, 17 and 18. Please notice the following: 13, 14, 15 of March tickets will be available only for the users registered at novat.nsk.ru. Premieres of two one-act ballets produced by a maestro of contemporary choreography “Radio and Juliet” with music by Radiohead and “Ssss” with music by F. Chopin are set on 13 and 14 June. We invite you to meet the other side of Slovenian choreographer’s work; his ballet “Peer Gynt” has been successfully shown in NOVAT for two seasons, and was called best performance of the season in musical theatre according to the Novosibirsk theatre award Paradise.
One of the main events of the 73rd opera season is going to be Dmitry Korchak festival, which will be held at the Great hall of NOVAT and Isidor Zak concert hall during the first summer months. Principal Guest Conductor of the Novosibirsk theatre will assume the role of conductor for events of his name festival. During the festival Dmitry Korchak will conduct opera performances: “L’elisir d’amore” on 2nd June, “Aida” on 30th June and “Carmen” on 5th July, he will also present a number of diverse concerts at Isidor Zak concert hall. The festival will end with a grand gala-concert on 7th July that will be featured with world opera stars, chorus and symphonic orchestra of NOVAT.
Concerts of May at Isidor Zak concert hall will start on 6th May with a concert “Beethoven-night”, conducted by a laureate of Sir Georg Solti International Conductors' Competition Valentin Uryupin, one of the most talented young conductors of the day. In previous season maestro appeared as musical director for one of the most beautiful premieres of NOVAT – “Pagliacci”opera.
31st May you are invited to see the premiere of Béla Bartók’s one-act opera “Bluebeard's Castle”. This opera by a Hungarian composer will be staged at the Novosibirsk theatre for the first time. Chief Stage Director of the Novosibirsk opera Vyacheslav Starodubtsev timed this production to 100th anniversary of the opera’s first night, which happened 24th May 1918 at the Hungarian State Opera House.
Please notice that the series of jazz events “JazzNOVAT” will continue. Jazz nights at NOVAT will involve all genres of contemporary jazz from classics to avant-garde, performed by top rank jazz musicians of the country.
