In the very first days of the new year, we will help young viewers and their parents to immerse themselves in the magical world of the most beautiful ballet tales — “The Nutcracker” and “Cinderella”.
On January 2 and 3, “The Nutcracker” ballet will be awaiting you on the large stage of NOVAT with an elegant Christmas tree, joyous anticipation of the holiday and New Year miracles, and the familiar delightful music by P. Tchaikovsky.
The centuries-old fairy tale, the luxurious ball dance in the royal palace, the extravaganza of virtuoso dancing and the wonders of the digital age will delight and amaze the audiences for several days until Christmas Day. From January 4 to 7, NOVAT will be showing the festive “Cinderella” ballet.
On January 8, the cheerful music by Rossini will take you to sunlit Seville in Spain. In “The Barber of Seville” opera, the virtuoso rogue Figaro will join lovers’ hearts, spin intrigues, and find a way out of the most complicated situations.
On January 10, NOVAT will show Edward Klug’s one-act ballets “Whisper” and “Radio and Juliet”. The works of the master of modern choreography are distinguished by fresh and deep emotions, graceful expressive movements, an unexpected selection of musical material (the “Radio and Juliet” ballet features the sound tracks of the Radiohead, the cult band; “Whisper” is staged to the music of Chopin Nocturnes).
On January 11 and 12, there will be another widely-known fairy tale on at NOVAT — “The Sleeping Beauty”, the all-time favourite ballet staged by the Spanish choreographer Nacho Duato, with the all-conquering power of love, the captivating music by P. Tchaikovsky, and the well-known story of the enchanted princess.
On January 13, you are invited to see the première of “The Bat” operetta in the large hall of NOVAT. You will enjoy Strauss’ most popular creation with its schemes and practical jokes, charming melodies and sparkling humour, and you are guaranteed unforgettable emotions and prolonged festive spirit.
