Ticket sale announcement for September performances

July 25, 2022

Dear friends!

Now you can purchase tickets for September shows in our mobile app, on our website and at the theatre box office.

This September will begin with main premieres of the past season and most popular shows of our repertoire. We are convinced that the upcoming season will be able to please you with joyous events, and one of them is this new big opera production – Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Tsar’s Bride. One of the main masterpieces of Russian operatic heritage will run on the Main Stage of the theatre. The new show is staged by the Artistic Director of the company, Conductor Dmitri Jurowski and Chief Stage Director Vyacheslav Starodubtsev.

“In terms of musical dramaturgy and the abundance of operatic hits The Tsar’s Bride is positively one of the greatest Russian operas. Clots of boiling passions and anguishes are encrypted in every note of this drama. I believe that the modern Russian culture requires this particular show in our repertoire – states Vyacheslav Starodubtsev. Rimsky-Korsakov’s score renders the gaping contrast between a sublime, empyrean love and a powerful, terrifying, dark concept of destruction. This range between a heavenly happiness and a horrifying disaster is an ageless subject of theatrical studies!”

Don’t miss an opportunity to see the first shows of The Tsar’s Bride on 15 and 16 September featuring stars of our ballet company. This production is looking to become a landmark event for the Novosibirsk cultural life.

Another grand opera of our September playbill is Aida by Giuseppe Verdi, also staged by Dmitri Jurowski and Vyacheslav Starodubtsev. Musical abundance of Verdi’s masterpiece is outright matched by an impressive and classy visual solution and supported by highly skilled soloists of NOVAT opera company, chorus and orchestra.

The ballet playbill of the new season will open with all-time favorite classical shows of Khachaturian’s Spartacus choregraphed by Yury Grigorovich on 2 September. Prokofiev’s Cinderella is scheduled on 3 and 4 September. Minkus’ La Bayadère with oriental flavor will be performed on 7 and 8 September. In addition to that, the beginning of this season will give you an opportunity to see Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet, Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake and Minkus’ Don Quixote.

This September the Main Stage of our theatre will host the performances shown in the previous season and still successfully running on our stage. 17 and 18 September we invite you to rediscover Shchedrin’s blockbuster The Little Humpbacked Horse that won the hearts of both young and adult audience with its amazing combination of classical traditions and modern theatrical technologies. Frederick Ashton’s bright and vivid La fille mal gardée, a lively ballet by the XXth century ballet classic will be expecting you on 24th September. The next production was once considered avant-garde, but now it has entered the short-list of the classical choreography – we are talking about Roland Petit’s famous ballet La Notre Dame de Paris, which is scheduled on 29 and 30 September.

We are looking forward to meeting you at NOVAT concerts and performances in this new season, and we believe it will be able to bring you lots of unforgettable emotions!

All above mentioned performances fall under The Pushkin Card.
