Denis Rodkin

Denis was born in Moscow. In 2009 he graduated from the Moscow choreographic college at the Moscow Dance Theatre “Gzhel “ and then won competition to join the Bolshoi company, where he drew attention of the tutor and principal dancer of the Bolshoi theatre Nikolay Tsiskaridze. Following his guidance Denis mastered the following roles: Bluebird in “The Sleeping Beauty”, Ta-Hor in “Pharaoh’s Daughter”, Antoine Mistral in “Flames of Paris”, Prince Siegfried in “Swan Lake”, Nutcracker in “Nutcracker”, Jean de Brienne in “Raymonda”. In 2012 he performed Prince Kurbsky in “Ivan the Terrible” ballet and got recognition of Yury Grigorovich. Later on Denis performed Spartacus in a ballet of the same name and Ferkhad in “A Legend of Love”. Productions with his involvement were shown in cinemas around the world as a part of “Bolshoi Ballet in Ñinema” programme. He is also good at performing foreign classics like John Cranko’s ballet production “Onegin”, where he accurately interprets a very complex and controversial image of Onegin. His acting skills were also remarkable in his interpretation of Armand in John Neumeier’s ballet “The Lady of the Camellias”.
