Dear friends! Meet the Operatic spring in NOVAT

The whole range of human emotions is reflected in ageless music of the greatest opera masterpieces, the best of them one may find in March playbill of the Novosibirsk theatre, featured with the top rank stars of the Russian opera community.

Operatic spring in NOVAT will start with Verdi’s “La Traviata”. His genius music made the sad story of the courtesan Violetta Valéry who managed to keep her soul clean and noble among the overwhelming hypocrisy the most popular opera in music theatre world. Leading roles in 11th March show will be performed by a soloist of the NOVAT Opera Company Irina Novikova (Violetta) and an Honored Artist of Russia, soloist of the Mariinsky theatre Akhmed Agadi (Alfredo).

Another Verdi’s masterpiece holding its righteous place in the temple of fame is his majestic “Aida”, which will be performed on 29th March in NOVAT. Leading parts will be performed by the prima donna of the Novosibirsk opera Veronika Dzhioeva (Aida) and a soloist of The Kolobov Novaya Opera Theatre of Moscow Anastasiya Lepeshinskaya (Amneris).

There is another surprise for the Novosibirsk opera admirers from Veronika Dzhioeva – the brilliant NOVAT soloist will make her highly anticipated debut as Amelia in Verdi’s “Un Ballo in Maschera”. As the singer admits, she is looking forward to performing in this show, since she finds the score of this opera particularly beautiful and rich in tunes, she also likes the director’s vision of Vyacheslav Starodubtsev: “I must tell I love performances with beautiful historical costumes, they take you away to a different epoch, avert from daily routine. Vyacheslav Starodubtsev’s production is reviving the image of classic Italian opera, keeping the theatre magic”.

Another debut will happen during the show on 25th March - witch Ulrika will be performed by a soloist of The Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Music Theatre, mezzo soprano singer Kseniya Dudnikova - for the first time in NOVAT.

Tchaikovsky’s “The Queen of Spades”, the most popular Russian opera in the world will be staged in NOVAT on 16th March. Lisa part will be performed by a soloist of The Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Music Theatre Irina Vashchenko.

Called the best dramatic soprano of Moscow by the Moscow media, the singer will perform for the first time on the Novosibirsk opera stage: “I’ve heard a lot about the Novosibirsk theatre stage – they say it’s not an easy hall for a vocalist to work with: a big stage with tricky acoustics, but I’m not afraid of that – I just need to come and try it. The first part that I will perform on your venue is Lisa – I sing that a lot; I love dramatic roles in general, the ones with an internal conflict, with things to act out”.
